For 6 years now, the UP Family Life and Child Development department has blessed us consistently with student teachers. We thank you, FLCD (specially Teacher Carol Ronquillo and Teacher Louie Marin), for trusting us once again. Most of the Nest teachers came from this program. Not only that, the Integrated Core Curriculum that most progressive schools use was pioneered by the department. We hope that Teachers Adam, Lia, Mar, Monique, Nurai, and Rhea will learn a lot from Nest. We are blessed with your presence!Read more about the student teachers from the teachers’ blog.

Preschool Orientation

July 4, 2007 · Filed Under Blog, News · Comment

Nest had its Preschool Orientation last June 30. Parents came in at different times depending on their class’ schedule. Upon arrival, the parents listened to Teacher Tina Zamora as she explained the school philosophy, its vision and its goal to give affordable progressive education by being a non-stock, non-profit corporation. Parents, families, foundations, and private individuals and companies may be able to fund our different projects and tuition fee subsidy.

Another exciting thing that Teacher Tina presented is the revised website. By logging on to www.nest.ph, parents and families may be able to get more information about the school. The parents were mostly excited with the Blog portion wherein they are able to see pictures of their children doing different activities in class.

The parents then went to their child’s classroom and listened to the teachers-in-charge as they presented the different curricula and themes that they prepared for the year. Thanks to all the parents who gave us part of their weekend!

No Classes on July 3-4, 2007 for Grade School and Blue Jays Class

The grade school and Blue Jays preschool class will not have classes on July 3-4 because their teachers will attend Dr. Mel Levine’s seminar in Fort Bonifacio. It’s a great opportunity for the teachers to learn Dr. Levine’s studies regarding the different wirings in the minds of children. Dr. Levine has written many books about the topic namely A Mind at a Time, The Myth of Laziness and Ready or Not, Here Life Comes!
