It’s a tie!

Nest’s Palarong Pinoy 2007 was a huge success! The event was moved to the UP Village Covered Court just in case it rained. The games were Jack and Poy, Luksong Tinik, Laglag Panyo, Bilao Race, Sack Race, Bao Race, Larong Goma and Magtanim ay di biro. There was also a cheering competition.
There were two teams – Red and Blue. Believe it or not, after the scores were added together, we realized that — it’s a tie!! Both teams scored 270 points.
It was a great experience for the kids to accept defeat and celebrate victory — regardless whose was it. The event highlighted Philippine indigenous games that the children enjoyed playing. The parents who were present during the event enjoyed seeing games that they themselves played when they were kids. One parent even said that we should play these games during birthday parties — great idea!!
Watch out for more pictures in our blog.
Nest Palarong Pinoy 2007

Nest will have its first Palarong Pinoy on September 27, 2007 from 7:30 am to 11 am. This sportsfest highlights Philippine games like Luksong Tinik, Jack and Poy, Bilao Race, Tumbang Preso etc. Our hope is that our children learn more about indigenous Philippine games.
Parents, what games did you play as children?
The Nameless Turtle has been Named!
And the winner is… Princess Pawikan! Thanks to all who voted. We were only expecting a hundred votes but we received more than 1,700! Princess Pawikan feels your love! The children from the Robins class will receive their goodies on September 27 during the Palarong Pinoy.
