The World Fair

October 15, 2007 is Nest’s World Fair. This is the culminating activity of United Nations Week. Every class represented a country that was the class theme for the month of October.

Sparrows classroom

The Sparrows class represented France and focused on Art and Culture.

kangaroo

The Mockingbirds and Cardinals chose Australia because Cleo Brindisi, a Mockingbird, is half Australian, and because they talked about Australian animals like the Kangaroo, the Kookabura and the Koala bear.

Hawaii

The Robins and Vertical chose Hawaii and focused on Food and Culture.

Japan

The Blue Jays chose Japan and focused on Food, Culture and Art.

Mexico

The Grade 1 focused on Mexico’s Art, Culture and Language and their similarities with our culture.

Brazil

Grade 2 and 3 chose Brazil since they were talking about the Amazon rain forest.

For the World Fair, the children holds a passport and visits every classroom or country with his/her classmates. The teacher of that classroom presents their respective countries by showing either their flag, art, food, etc. Their passport is stamped in every country they visit.

Want to see the kids exploring the world in half a day? Check out our blog or the multiply sites of the Sparrows, Mockingbirds, Robins, Vertical, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Grade 1 and Grade 2 and 3.
