Candy Gourlay Flies to Nest on Feb. 10!
Filipino author Candy Gourlay, whose book “Tall Story” was just bought by Random House and will be published this year in London, will visit Nest on February 10, from 9 am to 11 am! The students will be blessed by her visit as she tells us her STORY in writing STORIES! As she says in her website about the visit “There will be storytelling! And drawing!”

Nest Paskong Pinoy 2009 — Paskong Pasko na Talaga!
Ngayong taon, ipagdiriwang ng Nest ang Paskong Pinoy sa ika-18 ng Disyembre, alas-9 ng umaga, sa Word Community Church, Pasig City. Ang pamagat ng Paskong Pinoy ay Paskong Pasko na Talaga! Libreng makapapanood ang mga magulang at mga kapatid ng mga mag-aaral ng Nest. Ang karagdagang tiket ay P200. Kailangang kumuha ng tiket bago ang Disyembre 18 dahil walang ipamamahaging tiket sa mismong programa.

The Department of Education is suggesting that schools shorten or totally remove the yearly semestral break because of the suspensions brought about by Storm Ondoy. Nest School has decided to stay with the original schedule of the Preschool and Grade School semestral break. The only change is instead of going back on November 4 (Wed), all students come back on Nov. 3 (Tue).
We believe that both preschool and grade school departments are on time with their planned curricula. This is because we did not instill the swine flu break that most schools implemented at the start of the school year.

Changes in the October schedule due to Class Suspension
We wish you all health and safety, dear Nest parents.
The following changes have been made to the Nest Calendar due to the suspension of classes because of Storm Ondoy.
Grade School Exams slated for October 8 and 9 are moved to October 15 and 16 (October 8 schedules will be followed for the 15th and the October 9 schedules will be followed for the 16th). There are topics that will be removed from the Pointers for Review and will be carried over to the 3rd Quarter. The details of which will be given on Monday, October 5.
The Preschool Assessments will push through during the week of October 19. Your child’s schedules will be given by next week. For new Nest parents, the assessment is a 30-minute one-on-one with the teacher. Preschool Parent-Teacher Conferences will be from October 22-24. Watch out for individual schedules.
The Masquerade Day scheduled on October 16 is CANCELLED. This is to give way for a relief effort for the victims of Ondoy. The usual loot bag donations that we ask for the Masquerade Day will be given to a chosen evacuation center. Hopefully, we can prepare a program for the center wherein the students will be involved.

Bagyong Ondoy
To the whole Nest Family,
We pray that you are safe after the onslaught of Storm Ondoy. Nest is open for relief goods to be distributed first to the Nest families that were affected by the storm specially the yayas and drivers whose own houses were under water and mud.
We ask for your assistance to bring clothes, blankets, ready-to-eat or canned goods, soap, slippers to the school so we can repack them and give them to our affected kababayans.
If you wish to send your prayer requests, please do so. Currently, we are praying for the Hizon family who lives in Marikina and the Soliman family driver, Kuya Lito, whose house is submerged in water in Mandaluyong and whose kids have no piece of clothing that was saved. We thank the Lord that the school was not affected by the rain. The water only reached the front door of the building and did not enter any of the 1st floor classrooms and caretakers rooms.
